One day wonder!

I don’t even know where to start!

I had a guy work for me for one day…one day, six months ago, or longer, and has filed against us for unemployment!

He was a retired gentleman, looking to work just for something to do more than anything. He came in, I showed him around, explained his duties and told him about future plans for the position. He worked his 8 hours and said, “I’ll see you in the morning”. Never came back, didn’t call, nothing. I called him a few days later, out of concern if nothing else, to ask if he was coming back. He told me that he wasn’t. He’d forgotten how stressful working was, wanted to stay retired, blah, blah, blah. Now, he wants us to pay towards his unemployment.

I cannot pretend to understand the sense of entitlement mentality of folks these days. Not just in America, but worldwide. All one has to do is look at Greece, Spain, Portugal, Soviet Union, etc, etc to see what this kind of pathetic, socialist thinking will do to a society.

All you hear on the news is, “Fiscal Cliff!”. Yet, the meat and potatoes remains the same…raise taxes on what few American citizens and companies that are still working, and give it away to others that refuse to do their share. Spend more than you earn. It’s the governments version of not living within their means.

See, the problem here is that our government perpetuates the ingrained sense of entitlement in our population. People expect–nay DEMAND–their government take care of them.

I think most people would be happy as a clam if the government took care of them and made all their decisions for them.
